Full History

This is a story of God‘s anointing, spiritual power and prophecy as told by Pastor Mo. The Church History is really in three phases. It is a story of spiritual power and prophecy. It may sound a lot of details but there is a reason. Some of the dialogue is not exact but the meaning is there. Read it to the end.

The first phase started in 2010.

November 2010 Joanne and I meet.

2010: Jo Ann and I received a prophecy that we would lead a large church and it would be on over 30 acres.

December 2011
Joanne and I receive a prophecy that we would lead a church ministry on a large piece of land.

Jan 2011: Jo Ann and I were married and Jo Ann prepared to change jobs. She was working full time at a hospital. On weekends, she worked either with the National Guard or a local hospice. When she told her work that she was moving to Richmond, Virginia to be with her husband, the Hospice quickly told her that they also had offices in Richmond. Jo Ann replied that she was only continuing with two jobs and besides her husband planned to move to North Carolina when he retired. The Hospice quickly said that they also had offices in NC. They had just opened a new one in Oxford, NC.

When Jo Ann, came home that night, she told me about the job offer. I told her that we hadn’t decided where in NC yet and Oxford could be a starting point.

May 2011: I retired from US Army at Ft Lee, Virginia after 35 years. I continued to work at the National Simulation Center as a civilian.

Nov 2011: Jo Ann and I moved to be closer to their work sites. In our new house(it wasn’t our home yet), we dedicated a room for a chapel for prayer, meetings, and ceremonies. It was our own prayer room and a place of peace.

2012: Jo Ann and I started looking for a place in NC. The goal was somewhere within 30 minutes of Oxford, NC and at least 40 acres

Sep 2015: Jo Ann and I participated in our first wedding ceremony. We decided to both do the ceremony because we were marrying both another man and another women together.

Phase Two starts….

Dec 2015: I found two sites in NC that we thought would meet our desires and needs. I contacted the realtor, Mike, and asked if he could show us the two sites. The week before the meeting, Jo and I travelled to mountains in the western part of Virginia to pray without distractions about choosing a place. Then, I contacted Donna, the lady who had prophesied about the church. She told us to pray on the sites and God would tell us if it was the right place.

The next week, we met Mike and travelled to the first site. We prayed but we only heard angry voices so we called Donna and put her on speaker. Donna told us don’t worry about it. You will see three sites and one will be right. I told Donna that we were only going to see two sites. Donna said “You are going to see THREE sites. I am at work and don’t have time to talk”. Then Donna hung up. Jo and I went to the next site but we quickly realized that it was half swamp and not what we needed.

We called Donna again and put her on speaker. When I told her that the second site was a bust too, Donna said “You are going to see a third site. When you get there, there will be a huge tree. Pray at the tree and five people will be looking down at you. Then you will know thenit is right. Got to go”. Mike walked over then and said “I do have a third place. I just got it today and it is not even on the website yet. Do you want to see it?” I said sure. It is only 11:30 so we still have lots of time. When we pulled up to the next site, the first thing that we saw was an old two story farm house and in front…. a huge tree. Jo and I kneeled down at the base of the tree to pray and my mind began to race. I was sure that this was perfect. In my mind’s eye, I could see a church, a house, and everything else. I talked to Jo and we both agreed that this place felt right. But no five people watching. I went to Mike and said “Mike, this is great, but the owner wants a lot more per acre than we had planned. We really wanted something closer in price to the other two sites”. Mike said “Well, that can be a starting offer. Do you want me to ask the owner? He lives in Nashville, Tennessee and might take a couple days.” I said okay. Mike said “I will let you know what he says”.

Mike called a day later and said “I talked to the owner. You might know him. His name is Steve Buckingham[i].“ I replied that “I had never heard of him”. Mike said “Well…. when I told him that you wanted to start a church there and the five people looking down, he freaked out. Steve had said “That is my Grandparents’ farm. When I was a kid, I used to climb up in that tree and look over into the windows on the second story. There I would see my Grandparents praying in the window. In the second window, I could see my parents praying in the other room. That would be Grandpa, Grandma, Dad, Mom and me for a total of five people. I want to meet these people.” I got goosebumps when Mike told me that. That is when I knew that God meant for us to be here.

Phase Three. GOD IS GREAT!

On Feb 2016, we finalized the land sale.

I officially moved here in Jul 2016 and continued to commute to work and stay in our house in Richmond part time. We put in a concrete pad to put our RV while we tried to build our first building. We wanted to build the first building for the church and build a home later. We tried to start the next processes but kept getting kick back from everyone. They wouldn’t let us run water or electricity to the property without a building on the property and that would take at least a year to build. Prayer helped us get through it all.

In Sep 2017, we realized after several estimates that the old farm house was too damaged to be restored so we had to have it removed.

In 2018, we found another builder that said, “we can do this”. We knew he was the right builder when we went to his house and he had a large stained glass cross over his mantel.

In Jan 2020, the building was complete and we moved into the back rooms of our first building to stay until our home was built.

May 2021: When I came up on the stage with the Prophet Charlie Shamp at the Awake America Crusade, Charlie declared that I would become a great evangelist. Prophet Aaron Packard declared that great eagle was flying over me.

Great only occurs with hard work. Doing God’s work is light work. Today, our home is built. We are looking to add more. We are clearing land for nature walks and retreats. Our Kids Summer Camp is a blast. It gets bigger each year. God is good and this story is going to continue…

[i] Steve Buckingham served as Vice President of A&R at Columbia Records for ten years before leaving to become Senior Vice President of Vanguard Records for another ten years. But it is Buckingham’s successful stint as a producer that is his claim to fame working with artists such as Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, Alicia Bridges, Dionne Warwick, Tammy Wynette, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Bettye LaVette and many others. He has placed singles in the Top 10 of eleven different charts: Pop, Country, R & B, Jazz, Adult Contemporary, Americana, Bluegrass, Christian, Hispanic, Triple A and Dance. All Music Guide lists almost 400 albums to his credit.

Pastor Mo was asked to be the Chaplain for the Post 284, American Legion Riders, Motorcycle Riding Club.

November, 2011

Jo Ann and Mo moved to Richmond, Virginia to be closer to their work sites. In the new house, they dedicated a room for a chapel for prayer, meetings, and ceremonies.
